JP Kalaravkar, from Vadodara covers to Navratri stages

His earliest credited performance online is a July 2020 cover of “Vaara Re”, shared by the Kalakari talent channel. By Christmas he was singing “The Midnight Medley” with Sankalp Srivastava, recorded and mixed by Parth Maru — the producer who would shape much of what followed.

The oldest video still on his own channel is the Kedarnath anthem “Jai Jai Kedara”, from April 2021. In 2022 he recorded “Kahani” because his father asked for it after they heard the song together in the car, and released “Mare Palavde Bandhayo”, a full Gujarati music video, two days before Navratri.

2023 was a year of one-minute covers — “Madhubala”, “Ehsaan Tera”, “Phir Aur Kya Chahiye” — closing with a version of “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava” in words he rewrote himself.

From 2024 the Gujarati sessions take over: “Saybo Maro Gulab No Chhod”, first sung by Purushottam Upadhyay and Hansa Dave, then “Valam Ni Vaat” and, in July 2025, “Aabh Ma Jhini Jhabuke” — each with Parth Maru.

Then came Gopal Maro. Premiered on Janmashtami, 15 August 2025, it sets the gopis rocking Baal Krishna’s cradle to dhol, flute, guitars and a rap verse by Ankur Kalsariya, with a video directed by Kartik Nagda. JP called it his biggest and most heartfelt project so far. It has passed 100,000 YouTube views and reached streaming platforms on 24 September 2026.

Navratri is where the covers meet a crowd. In 2025 he sang at Rajpath Navratri in Bhavnagar, and a reel from that season shows a Shiv-themed performance styled for the stage.

A year later the organiser gave its verdict. Citing the response to the previous edition, Rajpath announced him as a returning artist for 2026 and billed him “The Garba Powerhouse”, alongside Aarti Sangani and Roshani Parmar. By his own count he has now played more than 700 shows.

Alongside the festival circuit he sings with The Urban Strings, a live band managed by LiveClefs whose Retro Medley — released in June 2026 — credits him among its singers. In August 2026 he was with the band at a corporate evening in Gandhidham, Kutch.

Recent covers include “Mashooqa” and “Tujhko” from Cocktail 2 and, in September 2026, his own version of “Kaanuda”, the Salim–Sulaiman song with Aditya Gadhvi. Next: ten nights of garba in Bhavnagar, 11–20 October 2026.
